Techno-legal practice · IjyaLabs

Two minds meet.
One place to build.

For the people who have to answer to both the compiler and the statute, and are tired of asking two firms and getting two halves of an answer.

The engineering mind

Knows what the system actually does.

Not what the architecture diagram claims, or what the vendor says in the datasheet. Where the data really goes, which logs really retain it, and what happens on the failure path nobody documented.

The legal mind

Knows what that obligates you to.

Which clause bites, which regulator cares, what a breach notification window means in working hours, and which of your commitments were made in a contract you have not re-read since signing.

Apart, each is half an answer

2 > 1.

A law firm cannot read your codebase. A dev shop cannot read your exposure. The gap between them is where the expensive surprises live — and it is the only place this practice works.

Four lines, one practice

Study is the anchor
01 · Engineering

Signal

Technology and technology-law news for people who have to act on it, not skim it. Short, dated, sourced. Every item says what changed and who it binds.

Planned

Two minds: the raw development, and the reading that says whether it matters.

02 · Law

Case notes, reviewed

A working reading room, not a passive one. Notes carry text, media and charts; readers who are signed in propose changes; a reviewer rules on each one — accepted, rejected, partly accommodated. The note keeps the argument that produced it.

Anchor · in buildRead the notes

Two minds: the case as read, and the review that decides whether the reading holds.

03 · Engineering

Distribution

IjyaLabs software with direct, honest downloads — real version numbers, checksums, changelogs, platform support. No store, no account, no telemetry.

Next to ship

Two minds: the person who wrote it, and the person about to trust it.

04 · Law

Counsel

Deferred, deliberately. Advisory here would bundle an engineering specialisation with a legal one, and only the first is staffed. Until a qualified lawyer is on the engagement this line carries a referral rather than an offer.

Deferred

Two minds: deferred — the one line that cannot be delivered by one.

Engage

Honest about what is ready

The practice is being built in the open and not everything is open for business yet. Distribution ships first; the reviewed study space is the anchor and is in build. Advisory is deferred until it can be staffed properly, and saying otherwise would be the easiest way to waste your time and ours.

If you have a problem that genuinely sits between engineering and law, write anyway — the worst outcome is a straight answer that it is not one, and a pointer somewhere better.
